1. About this policy

At One Health Osteopathy Clinic, we respect your privacy and believe you should understand how your information is used when visiting our website. This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, how we use them and how you can manage your preferences.

Our website is operated by Jessica Brown, trading as One Health Osteopathy Clinic (“One Health”, “we”, “us” or “our”). This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Notice.

2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your computer, smartphone or other device when you visit a website. They can help websites operate securely, remember preferences and understand how visitors use different pages. Session cookies are normally deleted when you close your browser; persistent cookies remain for a specified period or until deleted.

Cookies may be placed by our website (first-party cookies) or by external providers (third-party cookies). Scripts, local storage and other similar technologies may also be used and are covered by this policy where applicable.

3. How we use cookies

Strictly necessary cookies

These support essential functions, including security, spam prevention and remembering your cookie choices. They may operate without consent where a relevant legal exemption applies.

Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand website visits and improve our content and performance. It may collect pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser information and online identifiers. Google Analytics is configured to load only after you consent to Analytics cookies through CookieYes.

Functional cookies and technologies

Some technologies support website presentation, caching, performance and optional features. Whether consent is required depends on the technology, its purpose and any applicable legal exemption.

Our website does not currently embed YouTube videos. A YouTube player library included with the image-carousel plugin is configured to remain blocked unless you consent to Advertisement cookies. We do not use identifiable patient clinical information for behavioural advertising.

4. Services used on our website

CookieYes

Manages our consent banner, records choices and controls optional technologies.

Google Analytics 4

Measures website visits and interactions. Google Consent Mode v2 is implemented in basic mode; analytics requests and cookies are blocked until analytics consent is given.

CleanTalk

Protects the site and forms from spam and abuse. May process IP addresses, device/browser signals and information submitted through forms.

NitroPack / WP Engine

Supports optimisation, caching and content delivery. May process technical requests, IP addresses, browser information and security logs.

Google Fonts

Displays website typefaces. Where fonts load directly from Google, Google receives technical request information including IP addresses.

Gravatar / Automattic

Where an avatar is displayed, may receive technical request information and a hashed or encoded email address.

YouTube

A player library is included in a plugin but configured not to load until Advertisement consent is given.

Not all of these services necessarily place cookies on your device. Some process technical information when a website resource is requested. See our Privacy Notice for further information about these providers.

CookieYes lets you accept or reject non-essential cookie categories and review your settings. You can change or withdraw your choices at any time using the Cookie Preferences control on our website.

Rejecting optional cookies will not prevent access to the main website, although some optional features may be unavailable. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may affect website functionality.

6. How long cookies are stored

Cookie lifetimes vary by purpose and configuration. Session cookies are normally removed when you close your browser; persistent cookies remain until expiry or deletion. The CookieYes preference panel provides the individual cookies identified on our website, including their purposes, providers and retention periods. This information may change as services are updated.

7. Online bookings and external websites

Our website provides access to appointments through Semble, our practice-management and patient-record system. When you follow a link to an external booking service or other website, that provider may use its own cookies and technologies under its own policies. Where third-party content is embedded on our website, we aim to apply appropriate consent controls. Patient booking information is handled as explained in our Privacy Notice.

8. Privacy and personal information

Where information collected through cookies or similar technologies can identify you, it is handled in accordance with our Privacy Notice and applicable UK data protection legislation, including UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003, as amended. We do not intentionally use patient clinical information for website analytics or advertising.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our website, services, technologies or legal obligations change. The current version and review date will be available on our website.
